A fair has been organized in Bhagalpur. Whichever train is coming from every corner of the country, people wearing saffron clothes are shouting slogans like ‘Bol Bam’ for ‘Kanwar’. Kanwariyas are leaving for Deoghar in Jharkhand carrying Gangajal from Sultanganj in Bhagalpur. Whether they have been coming for years or have come for the first time, there is a question in everyone’s mind – will Krishna Mata be seen when we go to see Baba? Has she come to Bhagalpur? This time there are eight Mondays, so will she offer water to Baba every Monday while traveling 105 kilometers non-stop? ‘Amar Ujala’ spoke to Krishna Mata Bam with these questions.
This is the story of a Kanwariya becoming a VIP.
For the past several years, Krishna Bam, a government school teacher, used to appear as a VIP as soon as she reached Bhagalpur from her home district Muzaffarpur. This would not have happened for any other Kanwariya nor for his acquaintances or family members. They become VIPs for the administration and the police. Many times people used to get shocked seeing the deployment of police around them. This is the story of an ordinary devotee becoming a VIP. The story begins in 1982, when a woman began to be seen as a postal bomb. Dak Kanwar or Dak Bam means to offer water at Babadham after traveling 105 kms without stopping after lifting the water of the Ganges. How uncomfortable this must have been for a woman, so people looked on in astonishment. Krishna Bam of such power of devotion took water from Sultanganj and started offering it to Baba on every Monday of Sawan. This series continued till 2022. never missed

Krishna Mata Bam, an ardent devotee of Bholenath told in a conversation with ‘Amar Ujala’ – “Last year itself, while offering water to Baba Bholenath, I had said that now I don’t know whether the body will continue to work like that or not; That’s why for 40 years I kept coming – I will not be able to come. I have told Baba Baidyanath to postpone the journey in the form of a postal bomb, but Baba is in my mind every moment. As soon as Sawan comes, the feeling of going there is awakening in my mind, but now Baba is far away. Accept my worship from now on.” She further says- “She used to go to Baba with only one wish. I also had some part in it, which Baba completed. What else does a devotee want! I am watching Parnatis playing and jumping in Pune. The mind is engrossed in Baba and the body is engrossed in Him.
